Legendary hip-hop outlet The Source has been destroyed on social media for posting a video of Nipsey Hussle‘s final moments. The Source is now apologizing, but is it enough?

The Source wrote a lengthy apology on social media, blaming the article on a “contributor who has since been reprimanded.” See below:
But the backlash didn’t stop, which caused the outlet to tweet, “Mistakes of judgement are most unfortunate, especially relating to someone so near and dear to the culture. Regrettably, mistakes have always been made in all media but we will own it and always strive to do better! Don’t question our heart or intent. You both know us… Peace!”
“The reason he was at his Marathon Clothing store Sunday is because he was trying to hook up his ex-con pal with some new gear so he could look good before meeting up with his own family and friends later in the day,” TMZ reported. The friend was recently released after serving 20 years in prison.
In case you missed it, the post, which has since been taken down, appeared on Tuesday and offered readers a chance to see exclusive footage from TheBlast.com. The accompanying tweet was ultimately deleted, too.
“In this surveillance footage captured from an adjacent business, a man can be seen approaching two men from behind, then raise his hand to apparently shoot them. Both men fall, with one of the men wearing a white cap, which is reportedly the fallen rapper. As Hussle appears to raise his hand in defense of the shots, the apparent shooter lets off multiple rounds and kicks Hussle in the head before running through the parking lot to flee,” the Source said. The man suspected of killing Hussle is 29-year-old Eric Holder, who was arrested Tuesday afternoon. He was found in Bellflower, California, which is located in southeast Los Angeles.
Reportedly, Hussle, 33, whose real name was Ermias Asghedom, knew the suspect. CNN.com reported it was a personal dispute and while Los Angeles police Chief Michel Moore “declined to elaborate on the feud between the two, saying he didn’t want to jeopardize any potential prosecution, but he said the suspect approached Nipsey and others multiple times, engaging them in conversation.” Moore also said the dispute does not appear gang-related.
Based on a tweet by Los Angeles Police Chief Michael Moore, Nipsey Hussle was one of 26 people killed in across the city in the last week.
